Tosoh Bioscience AIA-CL300:
3D Animation for Compact Immunodiagnostics
Project Overview
For our long-term partner Tosoh Bioscience, we produced a high-precision 3D animation of the AIA-CL300 - a compact benchtop chemiluminescent immunoassay analyzer that represents the cutting edge of laboratory automation. The goal was to create a visual presentation that matches the device's technological sophistication and serves as the primary asset for its global market launch.
The Challenge
The AIA-CL300's competitive advantage lies entirely inside the machine - in the automated reagent handling, the CLEIA detection principle, and the precision of a fluidic system that standard photography or live video cannot show. The additional challenge was perception: compact analyzers are often associated with limited capability. The animation needed to communicate that small footprint does not mean compromised performance.
Our Solution
We built a complete digital twin of the AIA-CL300 from engineering documentation - accurate down to individual mechanical components. From this model we produced a layered animation: the device exterior first, then a series of cutaway views exposing the internal workflow, the twin cup handling sequence, and the CLEIA detection process. The pacing was designed for a mixed audience - laboratory professionals who understand the technology, and procurement or marketing decision-makers who need to understand why it matters without a technical briefing. In parallel, we adapted the animation for holographic projection on the Hypervsn platform - a format that requires working without a traditional background and is structured as a looping, attention-capturing display rather than a linear narrative.
Impact & Results
The 3D animation became the primary visual asset for the AIA-CL300 market launch across multiple regions. It was deployed in sales presentations, digital marketing, and on the Tosoh Bioscience website. The holographic version served as the centerpiece of Tosoh Bioscience's trade fair presence - a format that very few IVD companies use, and one that made the product impossible to overlook at professional exhibitions.
What This Project Required
Animating the AIA-CL300 required genuine familiarity with immunoassay architecture, reagent system logic, and the operational principles of automated analyzers. This is not general medical animation. It is IVD-specific visualization - and the difference is visible in every frame.
