Tosoh Bioscience HLC-723 G11: 3D Animation for High-Performance Glycohemoglobin Analysis

Project Overview

For our long-term partner Tosoh Bioscience, we created a comprehensive 3D visualization suite for the HLC-723 G11 Glycohemoglobin Analyzer - a high-throughput HPLC system designed for rapid, reliable HbA1c testing in demanding clinical laboratory environments. The G11 is built for laboratories where volume, speed, and consistency are non-negotiable. Our task was to communicate the analytical performance and automated workflow of the system in a way that goes well beyond what standard product photography can show.

The Challenge

The G11's competitive advantage lies in what happens inside - in the HPLC separation column where hemoglobin fractions are isolated and measured with high precision, and in the automated sample handling that allows the system to sustain high throughput without operator intervention. Neither process is visible during normal operation. The challenge was to visualize the internal analytical workflow with enough technical accuracy to be credible for laboratory professionals, while keeping the narrative accessible for the broader marketing and distributor audiences who will encounter this content across multiple channels. An additional challenge was differentiating the G11 clearly from other HbA1c analyzers in a competitive market - making its specific performance characteristics visible and understandable rather than relying on specification tables alone.

Our Solution

We created a photorealistic digital twin of the HLC-723 G11 and structured the animation around the full sample processing cycle - from automated loading through HPLC separation to result output. Cutaway sequences expose the internal mechanics at each stage, with camera movement and pacing calibrated to make each step clear without overwhelming the viewer. The visual approach prioritized precision and clinical credibility. Clean lighting, accurate surface materials, and carefully controlled depth of field reflect the high-throughput laboratory environment in which the G11 operates. The project also included a dedicated animation of the G11 integrated into a Total Laboratory Automation workflow with a Sysmex track line. This sequence shows how sample tubes are routed, sorted, and transferred via robotic handling directly into the G11 for cap-piercing analysis - visualizing the full TLA chain from track to result. For laboratories operating at scale, this integration is a key purchasing argument, and the animation makes it tangible in a way that no specification sheet can.

Impact & Results

The 3D animation gave Tosoh Bioscience a versatile visual asset for international marketing of the HLC-723 G11. It is deployed across digital campaigns, trade fair presentations, and distributor communication, serving as the primary tool for explaining a product whose key advantages are invisible to the naked eye.

What This Project Required

Animating the HLC-723 G11 required a solid understanding of ion-exchange HPLC, glycohemoglobin fractionation, and the operational logic of high-throughput automated analyzers. HbA1c testing is a high-volume, clinically critical application - the animation needed to reflect the precision and reliability that laboratory professionals expect from a system operating at this level. This is the kind of project where technical knowledge and visual craft have to work together. A studio that understands only one of the two will produce either an accurate but visually flat animation, or a beautiful video that laboratory professionals will not trust.
